The Sheep and Men tour is only possible in July and August. (duration 3h30). This visit truly offers the most comprehensive and enjoyable approach to the agropastoralism of the Causses and Cévennes.


"Knowing where you come from helps you know where you're going." … This sentence from Armand Pratlong perfectly sums up this combined performance, which was born 6 years ago from 2 major observations:

- Armand and Marie left their descendants in the hamlet of Hyelzas important and significant elements to talk about life there Causse Méjean (The old Causses Farm that they had transformed into museum of rural life, the farm they ran, the cheese factory where they created the first sheep's milk cheese). Members of our family continue to work at these three locations today,

- The Causses and the Cévennes are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site for their agropastoralism. Our family had everything to explain this inscription, from the agropastoralism of yesterday to the agropastoralism of today, right up to the finished product which is cheese.


This combined tour includes the following in Hyelzas:

- Self-guided tour of the old Caussenarde Farm (visit at your own pace the farm buildings with a documented map adapted to each generation as well as the discovery game for children).

- The guided tour of the Armand and Marie Organic Farm (Sheep's milk production, sheep's milk ice cream, milling cereals for the Moulin de la Borie, Angus beef). At the end of this visit, a tasting of sheep's milk ice cream will be offered.

- A tasting session led by a gourmet guide at the Le Fédou Cheese Factory (explanations about cheeses and their different production methods, tasting of different cheeses).

This tour is particularly suited to families and anyone wishing to learn more about the lives of farmers past and present on the Causse plateau, as well as to lovers of sheep's milk products! If that's you, this is THE tour for you!

Causses without water and inhabitants of Gorges who, on the contrary, consider the Tarn river as a full-fledged member of their family.

This combined service is experienced at your rhythm, without time constraints either on land or on water.

- At Soulio, a canoe trip 10 km which passes through the straits (the narrowest part of the Tarn Gorges) and arrives at the majestic Cirque des Baumes

- At the Caussenarde Farm of Yesteryear, a self-guided tour with a documented map adapted to each generation, as well as the discovery game for children.


This service is particularly suited to those who like to combine culture and activity of out in nature.
